Director Adam Marcus, who worked with Val Kilmer on the 2008 action film Conspiracy, harshly criticized the late actor in now-deleted social media posts. Marcus called him “the worst human being I’ve ever met” and a “jerk,” adding that he has no problem speaking ill of the dead.

The statements come more than a year after Kilmer’s death in April 2025 at age 65. The actor had a long history of on-set controversies, including past criticism from director Joel Schumacher, who described him as “childish and impossible.” Kilmer himself had publicly admitted to difficult behavior on some productions.

The controversy has revived the debate about the Top Gun and Tombstone star: a brilliant perfectionist or a problematic actor? A representative for the Kilmer family declined to comment. What do you think?
